Exorcist Seeks to Possess TVs

Sean Durkin, the writer-director of the critically acclaimed 2011 drama Martha Marcy May Marlene, is resurrecting The Exorcist as a 10-episode television series, Vulture reports.

Unlike director William Friedkin’s 1973 horror classic, or the William Peter Blatty novel on which it was based, this project will focus more on the events leading up to a demonic possession and how the family copes with the after-effects.

Morgan Creek is producing the series, which it will begin shopping to networks in the next couple of weeks.

So there is no middle to the story? What the heck? Sounds like one of those intervention psuedo therapy cable channel things.Better off if they worked into a huge crossover Of Jerry Springer, his protege STEVE,and Maury.By the way did INS finally catch up with that Aussie idiot yet and spare us that show?

The Excorcist II concentrated in a therapy office on the daughter coping with the after-effects of her previous possession. Practically everyone in the world is largely unaware this movie exists because it royally BOMBED. I’m open to a new interpretation, it’s been long enough, but this sounds like a snooze fest from the get-go.
