Axel-In-Charge: Extending "Secret Wars," Excitement for a "Totally Awesome Hulk"
Twentieth Century Fox has rolled out its 2013-14 film slate, setting release dates for the sequels to X-Men: First Class and Rise of the Planet of the Apes, as well as the 3D re-release of Independence Day, dubbed … ID43D.
Directed once again by Matthew Vaughn, the currently untitled sequel to the 2011 hit X-Men: First Class will open July 18, 2014, The film, written by Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand), begins shooting in January.
Titled Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the follow-up to last year’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes reunites director Rupert Wyatt and star Andy Serkis for a May 23, 2014 (Memorial Day) release.
Fox moved Robopocalypse to April 25, 2014, placing ID43D in its former spot on July 3, 2013. It also shifted Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters from March 15 to Aug. 16, 2013, and Walking With Dinosaurs from Oct. 11 to Dec. 20, 2013. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will open Dec. 25, 2013.
