Marvel Teases ‘Phase One’ 10-Disc Cinematic Universe Collection

Even as The Avengers pushes past a $1.3 billion worldwide gross, Marvel is teasing a limited-edition Blu-ray collection called “Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One — Avengers Assembled.”

The 10-disc set includes all six Marvel Studios films to date – Iron Man (Blu-ray), The Incredible Hulk (Blu-ray), Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray), Thor (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray), Captain America: The First Avenger (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray) and The Avengers (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray) — plus the bonus “Phase One Archives.” More details will be revealed July 15, which perhaps not coincidentally is the final day of Comic-Con International.

The collection is priced at $219 (or $153.30 if you pre-order on Amazon).

    Cool. Cool cool cool.

  • Richard Casey

Cool, yes, but not as cool as that Hellicarrier box posted here a couple of days back.

  • Travis Kyle Fischer

$25 per movie? That’s pretty steep, even with the extras.

I’ve already got most of these, so unless there’s something massively bonusy here, pass.

Coolest part of this: The words “Phase One.”

The first phase took 4 years?  Let’s say that there are a minimum of 3 “phases.”  That means Marvel has hopes/plans for another 8-ish years…..

so what would be phase two then?

  • jrau18

Iron Man 3 starts Phase 2.

” You are never required to buy again what you already have.” – Neil Gaiman

These are words to live by. I already have these movies, i have no reason, no matter how fancy the cosmic cube briefcase may be, to buy the same movies again.

Iron Man 3, Cap. America 2, Thor 2, Avengers 2 and possibly Hulk

  • Ian

Is it just me or does that look like the Fantasti-car peeking out from underneath that tarp?

After the next bout of Avenger solo sequels, could the Ultimate version of the FF be the next rebooted and shared universe title?

  • Red

I think it looks more like briefcase, there have been a couple of special edition blu-ray sets in a briefcase previously so that is what I am expecting.  And Fox still owns the movie right to the FF so until that changes don’t be expecting them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

    Phase 2 = ? , Pase 3 = Profit

Where are you shopping??? Amazon lists blu-ray Incredible Hulk, Iron Man I and II at around $14.  Thor and CA are higher, but both under $25.  And all the single movies will drop to bargain prices at places like Best Buy when Avengers, and this box set are released.
