Resident Evil: Retribution Debuts Explosive Full-Length Trailer

Sony Pictures has released the action-packed, and highly entertaining, first full  trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth installment of the video game-based horror series.

The wildly successful film franchise adaptation that has grossed nearly $700 million worldwide to the popular video game series, Resident Evil, returns in its highly anticipated fifth installment, RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION in state-of-the art 3D.

The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, ALICE (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

Directed once again by Paul W.S. Anderson, the film also stars Sienna Guillory, Shawn Roberts, Oded Fehr, Michelle Rodriguez, Johann Urb, Li Bingbing, Boris Kodjoe, Colin Salmon and Kevin Durand. It opens Sept. 14.

These movies keep getting more retarded, with stupider plot lines (clones in Resident Evil? Suddenly New York and all other cities are fine even though the World was destroyed two movies ago? Going back to the “Project Alice” plotline that was finished two movies ago as well?) and more and more explosions in place of plot or characterization.
And you know what? I’m okay with that. These films deserve an award for how they redefined “dumb popcorn flick”. Michael Bay’s Transformers ridiculousness pales in comparison to this.

It’s got zombies. It’s got action. It’s got lame one-liners. It’s got Michelle Rodriguez again. And it’s got Milla Jovovich in a silly outfit duking it out with Sienna Guillory in a tight bodysuit. I don’t care how bad it is, I’m still going to watch it and have fun with it. The haters are right, but it doesn’t mean liking it is wrong. It’s pure guilty pleasure and I enjoy it.

I can’t even remember why the bad guys are so interested in Alice or the virus. Whats their deal again? :)

Michelle Rodriguez is awful, hope she doesn’t have a big part in this.

As long as they keep making them, I’ll keep eating.
