Loses ‘Frustrated’ Jim Carrey

The proposed sequel to the Farrelly Brothers’ break-out 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber, dubbed Dumb and Dumber To, has hit a snag with the departure of star Jim Carrey. in some trouble. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was “incredibly frustrated” by what he viewed as a lack of interest from Warner Bros. and New Line.

“I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer, after all it’s implied in the title,” the star said in a statement.

Where this leaves the project remains to be seen. A prequel, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, came out in 2004 and starred younger versions of the characters portrayed by Carrey and Jeff Daniels.

Carrey’s next release will be the magician comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone with Steve Carell and Olivia Wilde.

    So his problem isn’t with the movie itself, it’s with the studio not giving a damn… That’s not a reason to walk away. Just let it stew in development hell until they’re ready and go do other projects.

    for every Ace Ventura 2 (not even getting started on the masturbation scene in that movie) we as movie goers are deprived of a potential Majestic or Truman Show. It’s movies like Ace Ventura 2 that lower the overall standard of movies and the intelligence level of movie goers. Nuff said

     ITS A COMEDY! If you dont want a comedy watch 23! Ive been involved in Sketch comedy and Improv for years and I to this day still laugh at Ave Ventura 2!

    the fact you still watch Ace Ventura 2 today is probably telling that you should get out of sketch comedy and improv, let the movie go…it sucks

    ill concede AV2 wasn’t all that funny, but saying D&D’r is only valued because of nostalgia is ridiculous. the first ace ventura was awesome and dumber & dumber was and is a comedy classic. carrey showd with the truman show and the man on the moon that he’s a real actor, but thats never where his bread and butter has been or will be. he’ll always be known as fire marshal bill, and loved & remembered — more than anything else — for his physical comedy.
