Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
A bidding war broke out in April between studios to score the rights to Electronic Arts’ race car franchise Need for Speed. DreamWorks wound up walking away with the checkered flag and is getting to work on the film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio put Act of Valor director Scott Waugh in the driver’s seat and has a script in the works from brothers George and John Gatins that will take the franchise’s nearly 20-year history into account. The latest game in the series, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, will be out on Oct. 30.
