David Fincher to Produce Thriller
From Mean Creek Director
Writer-director Jacob Aaron Estes, who drew critical acclaim for his 2004 drama Mean Creek, will team with David Fincher for the mysterious thriller IOU for Media Rights Capital, Heat Vision reports. In a rare move, Fincher will only produce the film.
Estes will direct from a screenplay by Michael Arlen Ross, who wrote the 2006 horror thriller Turistas. Details of the project are being kept under wrapped, but it’s expected to begin production in January.
Fincher is already partnered with Media Rights Capital for House of Cards, the upcoming Netflix political drama starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.
Mean Creek, which featured Rory Culkin and Josh Peck, was Estes’ first feature film. He followed that with the 2011 dark comedy The Details, which starred Tobey Maguire, Elizabeth Banks and Kerry Washington.
