Chevy Chase, Rest of Community Cast Returning For Fourth Season

Community fans have had a rough time lately. Sure, NBC renewed the series for a fourth season, but the network also decided to ax creator and showrunner Dan Harmon and replace him with David Guarascio and Moses Port.

Well, here’s another bit of good news: The cast will indeed return for the new season, Deadline reports. The only question was Chevy Chase, who had a very public disagreements with Harmon, but the site says he’ll definitely be back along with the other series regulars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Donald Glover, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong.

The series, which just won the Critics’ Choice Award for best comedy series, will return in October. Before that, McHale, Brie, Jacobs, Brown and Pudi will appear on a panel at Comic-Con International.

So Chase throws his usually movie star hissy fit, then the person who gave him a role that made him relevant is unceremoniously shit canned. BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG coincidence. The more irritating thing is that Chase has a plum job on Community, he gets all the best lines (“Call all the ambulances!”), has maybe three days of work an episode and has had a career resurgence. Now it looks like the show is over, because despite the awards and season renew, Community without Harmon has some serious hurdles to scale before it can carry on where Community left off.
