Marvel Releases Preview Trailer For ‘Phase One’ 10-Disc Blu-Ray Set

Marvel has debuted a preview trailer for its upcoming 10-disc limited-edition Blu-ray collection called “Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One — Avengers Assembled.”

Although few details, and no release date, have been revealed, we do know that the collection includes all six Marvel Studios films to date – Iron Man (Blu-ray), The Incredible Hulk (Blu-ray), Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray), Thor (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray), Captain America: The First Avenger (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray) and The Avengers (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray) — plus the bonus “Phase One Archives.” Also, it retails for $219.

More information is expected on July 15, the last day of Comic-Con International.

This trailer is Marvel’s attempt at the Men in Black’s flashy thing. They want everyone who watches this to go, “Who starred in The Incredible Hulk?”

Ruffalo did a great job as Hulk. Norton wasn’t bad casting (neither was Bana for that matter) but their films suffered from poor scripts.

I wasn’t hating,I made no reference to the quality of the film at all (which I think could be argued as being better than IM2). I was only talking about this trailer. I was commenting on the fact that in the above video there is not a single shot of Ed Norton (Only the Hulk and then Kevin Feige). Marvel doesn’t want us to remember him in the movie. I am guessing it is because of the bad relationship they had together. Compared to all the other actors in the trailer, he was conspicuously absent.

You would seem to be in the minority (those that didn’t shell out a billion dollars). Also, he’s been roundly praised by critics and fans. But ya know, whatevs.

I’ll just go to the local Hastings and collect the whole bunch for $20.00.

who the blue hell would spend 219.00 on this?

Most of which is to do with Norton, the stories that came out of that production suggest that Norton wanted his own way and didn’t get it, so more than anything HE has probably made the decision not to be involved.

The set looks great, the case is gonna be the cosmic cube, which is a shame because that Hellicarrier design was a lot cooler, but $215 seems pricey, it’s $40 a flick (ish) Granted i’m in the U.K, but comparatively, it seems pricey. Unless of course the box has an actual cosmic cube replica. In which case. WANT!

It says six discs, but only shows 5. I am guessing that Avengers is the 6th, but it would be nice to see it in the stack.

i want it but i already own all the movies…

The $215 price will only be payed by idiots who don’t know how to shop.  Amazon has had it priced around the $150 range and it will likely be that price or lower at most retailers who carry it on release week.  After that it’s hard to predict what it will be priced at especially being that there is no way of knowing how many are produced.

Regardless I’ve got mine preordered and halfway paid for in trades at a local store that deals in new and used discs.

  • Red

Actually it says 6 movies and ten discs.

  • thesnappysneezer

I want them but this is more of a 30 dollar set, 50 tops
