Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Kenny Powers is getting one more run around the bases at HBO. According to EW, Eastbound & Down will return for its fourth year with an eight episode order. The fourth season was never a certainty until the announcement, as series star Danny McBride had previously indicated that he and his writing partner Jody Hill might want to move on to other projects.
“HBO definitely wants us, and [co-creator] Jody Hill and I love writing for the show,” McBride told EW. “But there is other stuff we’d like to do. Both of us are ready to make jokes concerning people who don’t have strange haircuts.”
The third season ended with McBride’s character Kenny Powers appearing to be dead with the season finale seeing him show up at April Buchanon’s doorstep. There’s no telling what the Major League pitcher has in store for viewers, but there’s at least one more season for Kenny Powers to strut his stuff.
