Axel-In-Charge: Waid & Samnee on "Black Widow" and the Dawn of the All-New, All-Different Era
TV Guide has debuted the first look at fan-favorite DC Comics character Guy Gardner from the second season of Cartoon Network’s Green Lantern: The Animated Series.
Producer Jim Krieg teases that when Hal Jordan returns to Earth in September after defeating the Red Lantern Corps, he’ll discover he’s been replaced Green Lantern of Sector 2814 by Guy Gardner, voiced by none other than Diedrich Bader of Batman: The Brave and the Bold fame. “He’s like Hal Jordan cranked to Level 10,” producer Giancarlo Volpe tells the website. “He’s that much cockier, more brash and a womanizer.”
However, Jordan also will have to deal with a much more serious threat: the Anti-Monitor, the universe-destroying supervillain introduced in the classic Crisis on Infinite Earths. And to confront one of the most formidable figures to grace the DC Universe, or, well, Multiverse, Hal will turn to fellow Corps members Kilowog, Aya and Razer.
Green Lantern: The Animated Series debuted in April as part of Cartoon Network’s new DC Nation programming block. The cable channel will spotlight Green Lantern and Young Justice, and preview upcoming series Beware the Batman and Teen Titans Go! Sunday at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
