Fresh from The Woman in Black, Daniel Radlcliffe has signed on to another supernatural thriller, Mandalay Pictures’ adaptation Joe Hill’s bestselling 2010 novel Horns, Variety reports. Shia LaBeouf was previously attached to the project.
The Harry Potter star will play26-year-old Ignatius “Ig” Perrish, whose girlfriend Merrin is mysteriously slaughtered, leaving him as the only suspect. As his horns grow even larger, Ig sets out to find the monster that killed Merrin.
Alexandre Aja, who directed the French slasher film High Tension and the remake of The Hills Have Eyes, will helm the adaptation, which features a screenplay by Keith Bunin (In Treatment).
Horns is the second novel by Joe Hill, who’s better known to comics readers as the writer of IDW Publishing’s Locke & Key. His 2007 debut novel Heart-Shaped Box is being developed by director Neil Jordan for Warner Bros.
