Edgar Wright, J.J. Abrams Team For Mysterious Sci-Fi Film Collider
It should come as no surprise that Collider, the recently announced film from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures, is a sci-fi thriller with very little else known about it. The surprising part comes from who else is involved. According to Deadline, it will be directed by Edgar Wright and written by Mark Protosevich.
Wright has become a fan favorite with films like Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. He also has a pair of other films in the works that will most likely add to that acclaim: Marvel’s Ant-Man, and a re-pairing with pals and collaborators Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in The World’s End.
For his part, Protosevich has written I Am Legend and Thor as well as the upcoming films Jurassic Park IV, Mass Effect and the U.S. Old Boy remake. That’s a pretty good pedigree — now we just need to find out what the movie’s actually about.
