G.I. Joe: Retaliation’s Jon M. Chu May Join Masters of the Universe

Is He-Man finally poised for a return? The star of Mattel’s Masters of the Universe toy line and Filmation’s beloved ’80s cartoon may be heading back to the big screen. According to Deadline, Sony, Mattel and Escape Artists are in talks with G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M. Chu about helming the project.

The franchise revolves around Prince Adam, who gains great power when he transforms into He-Man to battle evil on the planet of Eternia. He-Man and the other heroic Masters usually throw down against Skeletor and his minions. As Chu’s Retaliation was delayed several months, we’re not sure how he handles long-standing franchises with huge casts of characters, but what we had seen before the move looked good.

After see retaliation I pray they do not use jon m chu for this film. I don’t want him to ruin another one of my childhood memories. Should it be the case that he is at the “helm” of masters of the universe, I refuse to see it. He is the worst.
