Axel-In-Charge: Extending "Secret Wars," Excitement for a "Totally Awesome Hulk"
More than 9 million people play the online role-playing video game World of Warcraft, so it was only a matter of time before Hollywood came sniffing around to turn it into a feature film, or better yet a franchise. For a while, Sam Raimi was attached to direct, but he announced last month at Comic-Con International that he’s no longer involved. While still director-less, the studio behind the adaptation, Legendary Films, has hired a new writer to take on the epic, Variety reports.
Charles Leavitt, whose credits include K-PAX, Blood Diamonds and the upcoming Seventh Son, is now at work on the script. While Leavitt’s resume doesn’t exactly scream “fantasy epic,” Legendary’s track record is pretty solid.
