Donald Faison Eyes Kick-Ass 2
Scrubs star Donald Faison is in talks to play Doctor Gravity in Kick-Ass 2, director Jeff Wadlow’s sequel to the 2010 superhero comedy, Deadline reports.
Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are returning for the film, which adapts the Marvel/Icon miniseries by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. as well as the Hit-Girl spinoff. Faison would play a member of Justice Forever, a team formed by Kick-Ass (Johnson) and other local heroes. John Leguizamo also recently joined the cast as Javier, the Red Mist’s (Mintz-Plasse) bodyguard.
Faison, who stars on TV Land’s The Exes, is also known for his roles in Clueless and Remember the Titans.
Director Matthew Vaughn, who’s producing the sequel, raised the $28 million himself to make Kick-Ass, which went on to gross $103 million worldwide. Production on the sequel is expected to begin next month for a May 2013 release.
