Mary Elizabeth Winstead Has Die Hard 5 Cameo, Apparently

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who played John McClane’s daughter in 2007′s Live Free or Die Hard, apparently will reprise her role — if perhaps only briefly — in the fifth installment of the Bruce Willis action franchise.

The news comes from Ted Cross, who’s working as an extra on A Good Day to Die Hard, the John Moore-directed sequel that sends McClane to Russia, where his estranged son (played by Jai Courtney) is caught up in a daring prison escape of a rogue political leader. Of course in Live Free or Die Hard it was Winstead’s character Lucy who was in trouble, kidnapped by the leader of a group of cyber-terrorists.

“I’m the ‘Man in Black,’ as they all kept calling me,” Cross writes on his blog. “I wish I could tell you everything about the scene, but that will have to wait until next year. It’s a scene near the end of the movie. I got to work with Bruce Willis again, which is always nice. The best, though, was that I got to work with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who plays Willis’s daughter. I’ve had a crush on her ever since she was the lead actress in Scott Pilgrim vs the World. That’s a terrific movie if you haven’t seen it yet.”

A Good Day to Die Hard opens Feb. 14, 2013.

Doesn’t blabbing stuff like this usually get your scenes reshot without you in them?

yeah if this was a character people cared about. Imagine if Sam Jackson had a cameo in the new Die Hard reprising his role as Zeus? people would love that! whereas this cameo will fall flat with most people. It’s sad that this is even making the rounds on EVERY movie news site on the internet.
