Arrow Debuts New TV Spot, Casts
Byron Mann in ‘Enigmatic’ Role

Byron Mann

Even as The CW releases a new 30-second promo spot for Arrow, news surfaces of another addition to the expanding cast of the upcoming superhero drama.

Deadline reports that Byron Mann, who’s best known for his roles in Street Fighter and Dark Angel, will appear in a multi-episode arc as “an enigmatic man who has a complex connection to Oliver Queen/Arrow.” Whether that’s a new character or someone with ties to the DC Comics universe is anyone’s guess at this point.

He joins a cast that includes Stephen Amell (Hung) as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy Merlyn, Katie Cassidy (Supernatural, Melrose Place) as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey (Dexter) as John Diggle, Willa Holland (The O.C.) as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne (24) as Detective Quentin Lance.

Developed by Green Lantern screenwriters Marc Guggenheim and Greg Berlanti and Fringe co-executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, Arrow centers on Oliver Queen, a wealthy young bad boy who, after spending five years shipwrecked on an island, returns to Starling City with a mastery of the bow and a determination to make a difference.

Arrow premieres Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

Get over this tie in with the DCU nonsense. It is a spin on the DCnU reboot and will develop it’s own mythos.Just enjoy it on it’s own sake or move on,already!

Marc Guggenheim’s recent efforts that crossed my path are the Green Lantern movie & his Justice Society comic book run.

His JSA run is best described with this old quote :-
“Some books shouldn’t be just set aside. They should be thrown with great force.”

My list of creator’s content that I choose to avoid at all costs, is a short one. Marc Guggenheim is top of that list.

I really liked the Green Lantern movie. It was fun! Hoping that Arrow is good and fun too.
