GIANT-SIZE X-POSITION: Duggan Goes Rogue in "Uncanny Avengers" & "Deadpool"
NBC has begun development on a supervillain drama apparently based on Hench, the 2004 graphic novel by Adam Beechen and Manny Bello.
According to Deadline, the series “centers on a regular guy who, in order to support his family, gets jobs temping for super villains.” That’s pretty much the description of the AiT/Planet Lar book, which followed a former college football player who, after finding no legitimate opportunities, takes jobs “henching” for supervillains.
The property previously had been set up at Warner Bros. as a vehicle for Eastbound & Down star Danny McBride, who was to co-write the screenplay with Shawn Harwell (Eastbound & Down, The Campaign).
The TV drama is being developed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Battleship), Sarah Aubrey’s Film 44 and Universal TV.
