Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Rubicon actor Dallas Roberts has joined the cast of AMC’s The Walking Dead in a role created for the television series, EW.com reports. He’ll play Milton, one of the residents of Woodbury, introduced in the upcoming third season.
“Milton is the details guy,” executive producer Robert Kirkman tells the website. “He’s the guy that works with the Governor, who is monitoring all situations and is trying to help the Governor make sense of this world that they’re living in. He’s not exactly a scientist, but he’s a smart guy that is trying to find out how zombies behave. Watching him do his little experiments is going to be a lot of fun.”
Played by David Morrissey, the Governor is, of course, the ruthless dictator of the Georgia town who comes into conflict with Rick Grimes and the other survivors. Showrunner Glen Mazzara says the inclusion of Milton “just adds a lot of heart and humanity to Woodbury, which further complicates what that is. That is a real town with real people and real survivors. It’s not necessarily a group of bad guys.”
Milton, who has a recurring role on CBS’s The Good Wife, joins a cast that includes returning stars Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Chandler Riggs, Steve Yeun, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, IronE Singleton, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson and Emily Kinney, along with newcomers Morrissey and Danai Gurira.
The Walking Dead returns for its 16-episode third season on Oct. 14.
