Dwight Schrute’s Cousin Mose to Visit The Farm (Once, At Least)

Mose, Dwight Schrute’s bearded beet-farming cousin, will return for the final season of The Office in the episode that serves as the backdoor pilot for the planned spinoff The Farm, TVLine reports.

With casting announcements for the show, which focuses on Dwight as a beet farmer running a bead and breakfast, coming like clockwork, many fans and wondered about the absence of Mose, whose appearances on The Office have been few and far between in recent seasons.

What’s been the hold-up? Well, Mike Schur, who plays the role, isn’t really an actor. He’s a former executive producer on The Office and the current showrunner of Parks and Recreation. And he hopes Mose gets killed off.

“I don’t know how to act!” Schur told TVLine. “[Former Office showrunner/current Farm showrunner] Paul Lieberstein is mostly the driving force behind keeping Mose alive because he loves torturing me. There was one time where I had a whole real scene with Jim and Pam — it was the night they stayed at the Schrute B&B — and I served them breakfast and had like six lines … and I was completely unprofessional because I’m not a good actor and just laughed every time.”

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. That said, i don’t necessarily want Mose to be a main character, be works best as a random gag or throw away moment. Him in the barn when Dwight “trains” Ryan was fantastic, and him running alongside Jim and Pam’s car make that character funny.
