Jeff Wadlow Tweets First Look At Mother Russia On Kick-Ass 2 Set

Mother Russia has arrived, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse looks duly freaked out about it.

Ever since Kick-Ass 2 was announced, we’ve been dying to discover who director Jeff Wadlow would select as the most intimidating new villain to join the franchise. It seems as though Mother Russia has indeed been cast, though we still are clueless abut who’s playing her.

Wadlow tweeted an image showing Mother Russia’s impressively tall and terrifying body, although the photo doesn’t show her face. In the background, Mintz-Plasse sits holding a script and looking a bit freaked out by the woman he’s going to spend a good portion of the movie acting with.

“2 days till we start shooting… and Chris just met Mother Russia!” Wadlow tweeted.

That’s not the only spoilery image the director has tweeted. He’s also shown off exciting props like Hit-Girl’s bike and Mother Russia’s sword. With only one day to go until filming begins, we can expect plenty more updates from the set over the next couple of months. Just don’t show us the decapitated dog prop.

Based on Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.’s miniseries and the Hit-Girl spinoff, Kick-Ass 2 picks up months after the 2010 action comedy, as Kick-Ass forms alliances with other local heroes and joins Justice Forever, which discovers the Red Mist — rechristened “Motherfucker” — is gathering his own group of villains.

Carrey would join returning cast members Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Mintz-Plasse and Yancy Butler, along with new additions Jim Carrey, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Lindy Booth, Andy Nyman, Morris Chestnut and Robert Emms.

Kick-Ass 2 opens June 28, 2013.

Am I the only one who thinks that physique looks more masculine than muscly female? Makes me wonder if it’s gonna be a Winklevoss situation, with a man providing the size and a woman performing the facial performance.

Sounds like you’ve never seen a female bodybuilder or wrestler. :D That’s probably a wrestler given her muscle definition and the fact that she’d be already trained for the fights/stunts, unlike a bodybuilder.
