Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Rosario Dawson has confirmed she’ll reprise her role as Gail, the Uzi-wielding dominatrix prostitute, in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Her involvement in the sequel has been presumed for months — heck, director Robert Rodriguez said as much in April — but now it’s official. Beyond that, however, the actress is tight-lipped.
“It’s in! It’s happening!” she told E! Online, adding, “Can’t tell you nothing.”
Most of the original cast is expected to return for the long-awaited follow-up to the 2005 hit, which reunites Rodriguez and Frank Miller for a film based in part on A Dame to Kill For, the 1993 second volume of Miller’s Dark Horse series, as well the short story “Just Another Saturday Night” and at least one new segment “The Long, Bad Night.” The screenplay is by Miller and Academy Award winner William Monohan (The Departed).
Sin City, which had an estimated budget of $40 million, grossed nearly $159 million worldwide. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For opens Oct. 4, 2013.
