The Biggest Superhero Films That Didn't Happen, Part 2
Comic Books, Film
James Bond is back and sliding into action.
A new poster for Skyfall has premiered, and it looks fantastic. It’s styled in the same way the character banners were, except it’s, well, better. Daniel Craig slides across the bottom of the minimalist poster pointing Bond’s signature Walther PPK offscreen. Behind him is the iconic “007.” It’s simple, it gets the point across and we adore it. Hopefully the film is the same way.
Meanwhile, we’ve got some exciting news on the Skyfall music front. Showbiz411 is confirming that Adele will sing the title track, appropriately called “Skyfall.” The “Rumour Has It” singer has become a breakout star over the past few years, so it makes perfect sense that she would be the person tapped to sing the Skyfall theme. It also likely means that the song will be wonderful. The woman didn’t win six Grammys this year for nothing.
Directed by Sam Mendes, Skyfall finds 007’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) tested as her past comes back to haunt her. When MI6 comes under attack, Bond must track down and destroy the threat, no matter what the personal cost. The film, which also stars Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace and Tonia Sotiropoulou, opens in the United Kingdom Oct. 26 and in the United States Nov. 9.
