BEST BETS: "Jessica Jones," "Big Trouble/Escape from New York" & More October 2016 Highlights
Battlestar Galactica and Dollhouse alum Tahmoh Penikett has landed a guest role on Arrow, the upcoming CW superhero drama based on DC Comics’ Green Arrow. The news broke on the actor’s Facebook fan page and was confirmed by GreenArrowTV and The Hollywood Reporter.
He’ll play Tom Salvati, the right-hand man to mob boss Frank Bertinelli (Desperate Housewives‘ Jeffrey Nordling), who of course is the father of Helena Bertinelli, aka the DC Comics heroine the Huntress. It’s unknown whether Penikett’s role is a one-off or recurring.
It was announced last month that Australian actress Jessica De Gouw will be introduced in the seventh episode as Helena, a vigilante (and a potential love interest for Oliver Queen) whose determination to destroy her father’s criminal empire puts her on a collision course with Arrow. DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns will co-write the episode, titled “Muse on Fire,” with Arrow executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg.
Arrow centers on wealthy young bad boy Oliver Queen, who after being marooned on a remote island for five years returns to Starling City with a mastery of the bow and a determination to make a difference.
The series stars Stephen Amell (Hung) as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy Merlyn, Katie Cassidy (Supernatural, Melrose Place) as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey (Dexter) as John Diggle, Willa Holland (The O.C.) as Thea Queen, Susanna Thompson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne (24) as Detective Quentin Lance.
Arrow premieres Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
