The Dark Knight Rises Arrives Dec. 3 On Blu-ray and DVD

Warner Bros. has released a trailer on YouTube for the Blu-ray and DVD release of The Dark Knight Rises, confirming that the conclusion of director Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy will be available for home viewing on Dec. 3. No additional details were revealed, but expect the studio to announce more information shortly (it’s worth noting that, contrary to rumor, the Blu-ray apparently won’t include a director’s cut).

The Dark Knight Rises is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

The film, which has grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, stars Christian Bale as Batman, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Tom Hardy as Bane, Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tale, Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Officer John Blake and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox.

Here’s hoping the fix the audio mix to make Bane easier to understand. In the theatre, it sounded like his voice was coming from everywhere and I couldn’t make out about a third of what he was saying (ironically enough, I had no problem understanding him in the the trailers where everyone was complaining about his voice).
