Kick-Ass 2 Set Photos Reveal Jim Carrey and Justice Forever

New photos have surfaced from the Toronto set of director Jeff Wadlow’s Kick-Ass 2 showcasing returning star Aaron Johnson with some of the members of the crime-fighting team Justice Forever — including our first look at Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars, an ex-Mafia member turned vigilante who founds the group with his brother Lieutenant Stripes. In addition, Newscom (via Geek Tyrant) provides glimpses of Lindy Booth (Dawn of the Dead) as Night Bitch and Robert Emms (War Horse) as Insect Man.

The Sun got its own quality shots of Carrey as the Colonel, as well as Chloe Moretz in her full Hit-Girl costume.

That’s not all, though, as The Daily Mail posted snaps of two different scenes, one of Moretz in her street clothes and Christopher Mintz-Plasse — formerly The Red Mist, now known as Motherfucker — in his new villain costume. You can even see John Leguizamo, who plays a bodyguard.

Want even more Kick-Ass 2 goodness? Do yourself a favor, and follow Jeff Wadlow on Twitter. Since filming started a few weeks back, he’s been sending out photos of the actors in and out of costume for all to see, including Donald Faison as Doc G.

The sequel picks up months after the 2010 action-comedy based on the Mark Millar/John Romita Jr. comic, as teenager-turned-vigilante Kick-Ass hooks up with fellow heroes Justice Forever only to discover that Mintz-Plasse’s Motherfucker is teaming up with various villains. Moretz and Yancy Butler are set to return along with new additions Leguizamo, Faison, Andy Nyman and Morris Chestnut. The film opens June 28, 2013.

Hah, the alley scene is being filmed across from my school :)

This all looks great, but they can’t set it a few years — even a year — after the 2010 film? Chloe’s really grown up since then. But look at me, debating what strains credibility in a superhero flick. :)

I wonder what they’ll call Mintz-Plasse’s character when this eventually reaches tv/basic cable?

These photos have made me beyond excited for the sequel to
premiere. All of the characters look exactly as I pictured they would, giving
me a lot of hope. I am so glad that a co-worker at DISH suggested I watch the
original a couple months ago. I was hesitant at first but ordered it from
Blockbuster @Home, and instantly became a fan. In preparation for the sequel, I
have rented it several more times to refresh on details. It helps that it’s so
easy to order the DVDs by mail, or exchange them in the store. I love the
storyline for this sequel, with all of the incredible actors; this has
potential to be better than the original.
