Axel-In-Charge: Waid & Samnee on "Black Widow" and the Dawn of the All-New, All-Different Era
When word started getting around that Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt was looking to exit the sequel, the big question was, of course, who would replace him. Wasting little time in its search for the answer, Deadline reports Fox has a list of potential replacements.
According to the website, that list includes Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pacific Rim), Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper), Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, Intruders), J Blakeson (The Disappearance of Alice Creed), Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Mud) and Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage, The Impossible), with Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let the Right One In) said to be at the top.
Expect the decision to be made very soon. as Fox wants to continue its $483 million-grossing franchise with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and hit the planned March 2013 release date.
