Luke Cage History: From Hero for Hire to Hollywood
TV, Comic Books
On the eve of the trailer premiere for director Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger, Disney has released a teaser poster and three more images for the big-budget Western that stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer. The photos showcase Depp’s much-discussed new take on Tonto as a painted Native American spirit warrior — it’s inspired by a painting — while the poster gives a clever nod to both his crow headdress and the Lone Ranger’s trademark mask.
Opening July 3, 2013, The Lone Ranger is described as “a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice — taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.”
The film also stars Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter.
