Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Fans of Ricky Gervais’ Extras already know that Daniel Radcliffe can be a horny little guy, but now there’s photographic proof. No, he’s not hitting on older actresses this time, but instead debuting the look of his next role, that of Ig from the big-screen adaptation Joe Hill’s supernatural thriller Horns.
The image debuted on Entertainment Weekly and shows off the look of a young man who wakes up one morning with horns growing out of his head that other people can’t see. Between flashbacks and dealing with the murder of his girlfriend — everyone thinks he did it — Ig discovers new abilities that come along with the new growths. Radcliffe called the role an outrageous departure for him, adding, “To play somebody who, in the midst of a time in his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character — it was very, very exciting.”
Alexandre Aja (the The Hills Have Eyes and Piranha remakes) is helming the Mandalay Pictures movie, which boasts a script by Hill and In Treatment writer Keith Bunin. In addition to Radcliffe, the film stars Juno Temple, James Remar, Max Minghella and others. There’s no release date just yet, but Horns is expected to debut in 2013.
