INTERVIEW: Duggan's "Deadpool" Deals with the Pressures of High Profile Heroics
Yippe-ki-yay mother–whaaaat? Yahoo! Movies has premiered the teaser trailer for A Good Day to Die Hard, which sees a 57-year-old Bruce Willis reprise his role as New York City police detective John McClane, “the 007 of Plainfield, New Jersey.”
Set to a manic rendition of “Ode to Joy,” the trailer doesn’t provide many clues to the plot — the accompanying description reads only, “John McClane and his son get into a dangerous situation in Russia” — but it does offer gunfire and plenty of explosions. Exploding buildings, exploding trucks, exploding cars, exploding … you get the picture. Fans of the billion-dollar franchise will undoubtedly think it’s precisely what they’ve been missing since 2007’s Live Free or Die Hard.
Directed by John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines, Max Payne), A Good Day to Die Hard sends McClane to Russia, where his estranged son (played by Jai Courtney) is caught up in a daring prison escape of a rogue political leader. The film, which opens Feb. 14, also stars Sebastian Koch and Yuliya Snigir, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead expected to return for a cameo as McClane’s daughter.
