UPDATE: "The Flash" Hasn't Cast Savitar, Says Berlanti
TV, Comic Books
Following the success Christian Bale, David O. Russell and Amy Adams found in The Fighter, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to learn that the trio are teaming up again to work on a new project.
Bale is the newest addition to the film, which was formerly called American Bullshit. He’ll be joining Adams, Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Renner. Variety has the news, and adds that Russell is writing a script with Eric Warren Singer based on Signer’s earlier draft. Russell will reunite with Silver Linings Playbook producer Jon Gordon on this movie as well.
Here’s the plot synopsis:
The Untitled David O. Russell Project is based on the true story of a financial con artist (Bale) and his mistress/partner in crime (Adams), who were forced to work with an out-of-control federal agent (Cooper) to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters, and politicians. At the epicenter of the tale is the volatile leader of the New Jersey state assembly (Renner) who is also the local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden.
No word yet on when this untitled movie will go into production.
Russell and Cooper recently worked on The Silver Linings Playbook, and we’ve already detailed the director’s connection with Bale and Adams through The Fighter, but we’re surprised Mark Wahlberg’s name hasn’t popped up on this cast, too. Russell and Wahlberg worked together on The Fighter and Three Kings and recently we’re trying to get an adaptation of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune off the ground. We’d love to see the two of them reunite again in the near future.
