Arrow Crowns Currie Graham As King of Royal Flush Gang

The CW’s Arrow has crowned its king. No, the Green Arrow-based series, which premieres Wednesday, isn’t be going regal, but instead continues to round out the members of the Royal Flush Gang.

News broke last month that Being Human‘s Kyle Schmid will play Ace, and now The Hollywood Reporter adds word that NYPD Blue alum Currie Graham will lead playing card-themed group of thieves as King.

Graham has been working in television for years, with roles on 24, House, Boston Legal, Grimm and Fringe.

The Royal Flush Gang will make its first appearance on the series’ sixth episode “Legacies” as bank robbers. The roles of Queen, Jack, Ten and sometimes-member Wild Card still need to be filled.

“The Royal Flush Gang was the most outlandish villains from the comics, but they turned out to be our most grounded villains,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told reporters Monday. “The relationship that Oliver has with King, the leader of the gang, we’re really proud of it.”

Developed by Kreisberg and Green Lantern screenwriters Marc Guggenheim and Greg Berlanti, Arrow centers on wealthy young bad boy Oliver Queen, who after being marooned on a remote island for five years returns to Starling City with a mastery of the bow and a determination to make a difference.

The series stars Stephen Amell (Hung) as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy Merlyn, Katie Cassidy (Supernatural, Melrose Place) as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey (Dexter) as John Diggle, Willa Holland (The O.C.) as Thea Queen, Susanna Thompson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne (24) as Detective Quentin Lance.

Arrow premieres Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
