Harley Quinn's Greatest Moments from "Batman: The Animated Series"
TV, Comic Books
Take a gander at the first television spot from Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The clip mostly features Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and Ian McKellen as Gandalf, but there’s also a solid smattering of battles, special effects and dialog familiar to J.R.R. Tolkien fans.
Empire also got some dirt, as you’d expect considering the upcoming issue is packed with Hobbit-y goodness, specifically the film’s run time.
“It’s looking like it’s going to be about ten minutes shorter than Fellowship was,” Jackson said. “So it’s going to be officially our shortest Middle-earth yet. I mean, Fellowship was just under three hours and this is about 2 hours 40 minutes at the moment.”
As the post explains, this is still a rough estimate for the film, which debuts Dec. 14, because the director isn’t quite finished with all the special-effect shots and credits.
Jackson’s three-movie adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved fantasy novel also features returning Lord of the Rings stars Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom and Andy Serkis, and an ensemble cast that includes Richard Armitage, John Bell, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Luke Evans, Stephen Fry, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Barry Humphries, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Evangeline Lilly, Sylvester McCoy, Bret McKenzie, Graham McTavish, Mike Mizrahi, James Nesbitt, Dean O’Gorman, Lee Pace, Mikael Persbrandt, Conan Stevens, Ken Stott, Jeffrey Thomas and Aidan Turner.
