A Good Day to Die Hard Trailer: ‘Yippee Ki-Yay, Mother Russia’
Fox has debuted the second trailer for A Good Day to Die Hard that recycles a lot of action footage from the teaser released earlier this month — complete with “Ode to Joy” soundtrack — while also offering a first look at Mary Elizabeth Winstead reprising her role as John McClane’s daughter Lucy.
If that weren’t enough, the studio has also unveiled a poster for the film, focusing on Bruce Willis’ McClane and a new twist on his trademark catchphrase. Watch the trailer below or in high definition at Apple.com.
Directed by John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines, Max Payne), A Good Day to Die Hard sends McClane to Russia, where his estranged son (played by Jai Courtney) is caught up in a daring prison escape of a rogue political leader. The film, which opens Feb. 14, also stars Sebastian Koch and Yuliya Snigir.
Iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, for the first time, finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack–unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover that their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.
