Axel-In-Charge: Navigating the "Civil War II" Landscape, Bringing DMC to Marvel
Fans of Hell on Wheels can probably be forgiven if they detected a sense of, well, finality to the fiery Season 2 finale of the AMC Western. After all, by the time that episode ended, several of the key players were dead, presumed dead or in custody. Who remained to continue the western expansion the Union Pacific Railroad?
It turns out, however, that we’ve not seen the last of Cullen Bohannon. Inside TV reports that AMC has ordered a 10-episode third season of Hell on Wheels (each of the previous two seasons were also 10 episodes). The drama averaged 2.4 million viewers in its second season.
Created by Joe and Tony Gayton, the Western follows Cullen Bohannon (played by Anson Mount), a former Confederate soldier who works as a foreman, and sometimes-enforcer, as he attempt to find and kill the Union soldiers who murdered his wife and son. Co-stars include Colm Meaney as Thomas Durant, the driven railroad promoter, and Common as freed slave Elam Ferguson.
