The Biggest Superhero Films That Didn't Happen, Part 2
Comic Books, Film
Empire has debuted a haunting and enigmatic promo video and related poster for Stoker, the English-language debut of Oldboy director Chan-wook Park.
Set to the tune of Emily Wells’ “Becomes the Color,” the video doesn’t provide any concrete details about the thriller’s plot, but it does give us plenty of footage of stars Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska and Matthew Goode — oh, and a spider.
After India’s (Wasikowska’s) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.
Written by Wentworth Miller, Stoker also stars Dermot Mulroney, Jacki Weaver, Alden Ehrenreich and Lucas Till. The film opens March 1.
