Axel-In-Charge: "Secret Wars" Jam Session Talking "A-Force," "Ultimate End" and More
Skyfall director Sam Mendes and co-writer John Logan are re-teaming for a vampire-hunter television drama.
Deadline characterizes the project as “an origin story set in the 1800s London in the vein of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,” featuring literary characters like Abraham Van Helsing and Victor Frankenstein as the pursue vampires. The show, which would be written by Logan with Mendes attached to produce and possibly direct, is already being shopped to cable networks.
The drama would be a departure for Mendes, who before Skyfall was best known for such films as American Beauty, Road to Perdition and Revolutionary Road. Logan, however, has a more diverse resume that ranges from horror (Bats, Sweeney Todd) to science fiction (The Time Machine, Star Trek: Nemesis) to historical drama (Gladiator, The Last Samurai).
