The Muppets Sequel Begins Filming in January in London

The world will get another Muppet movie next year, just in time for the holidays. With the Dec. 20, 2013 release date a little more than a year away and casting announcements like Christoph Waltz playing an Interpol inspector dropping, Collider went on the case to get more information. A chance meeting with producer Todd Lieberman provided just that.

The film won’t be shot in the United States, but instead in London in and around Pinewood Studios beginning in January. Lieberman also teased that casting announcements would be made relatively soon. Bret McKenzie, who won the Academy Award for Best Original Song with the movie’s “Man or Muppet,” is currently working on new songs that might go along with a new Muppet or two in the upcoming film.
