Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Michael Bay should think about going into politics, because that guy flip-flops like a sandal. First he wasn’t going to direct a fourth Transformers movie after completing 2011’s Dark of the Moon, now he’s working on it. Later, when rumors started spreading about his Pain and Gain star Mark Wahlberg taking the lead role, Bay hopped online to say it was all just a rumor. And yet now it turns out those rumors are true.
“Mark is awesome,” Bay said in a press release posted on his wbsite. “We had a blast working on Pain and Gain, and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy.”
Bay has said that Transformers 4 will not be a reboot, but instead focus on different characters, possibly go off-planet and introduce some new Autobots and Decepticons. Transformers 4 is scheduled for a June 27, 2014 release.
