Star Wars Director Search Narrows

As soon as one question about the highly anticipated seventh Star Wars film is answered, another one slides into its place. After discovering that Toy Story 3‘s Michael Arndt is writing the script, the next big question became, “Who will direct?”

MTV talked with Star Wars executive producer Frank Marshall, who didn’t answer many questions but suggested a director announcement is forthcoming. After saying he knew who would be helming the film, he added that the field had been winnowed down to “a couple of candidates, but I don’t know how soon that will be revealed.”

Want something a little meatier? Well, he did say that a fifth Indiana Jones movie has been put on hold while Lucasfilm and Disney work on Episode VII. “It’s still open,” Marshall said. “But it’s really on the back burner and we’re not really talking about it. Star Wars is next, so that’s what we’re focusing on. Indy is back there, but nothing has changed.”
