"Captain America: Civil War" Unleashes First Footage With New Trailer
Heat Vision reports that Goldman, who co-wrote Stardust, X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass, is in negotiations to take a pass at the script for Pinocchio, which would star Robert Downey Jr. as Geppetto. Although there are no agreement for either Downey or Burton, the addition of Goldman is expected to close the deal. Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Pushing Daisies) wrote the first draft.
This adaptation of Carlo Collodi’s classic children’s tale will focus on the woodcarver whose marionette comes to life and dreams of becoming a real boy. When Pinocchio goes missing, Geppetto sets off on a mission to find him.
Guillermo del Toro is also developing a 3D stop-motion animated version of Pinocchio, based on Gris Grimly’s 2002 illustrated adaptation of the fairy tale. His movie is set in Italy between World War I and World War II.
