Marvel’s Delayed ‘Phase One’ Set Will Feature ‘Phase Two’ Tease

After delaying the release because of a legal dispute over the packaging, Marvel has announced an April 2 release date for its 10-disc, six-movie “Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One” Blu-ray collection. It was originally scheduled to arrive on Sept. 25.

Pre-sales begin later today for the collection, which EW.com reports will include such new content as deleted scenes from each of the studio’s previous films, and a look ahead to Phase Two, which begins in May with Iron Man 3 and continues with Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige wasn’t specific about the previews, only telling the website  that they include “footage, concept art, and a few new surprises.” Presumably, though, fans can expect the Ant-Man test reel director Edgar Wright debuted in July at Comic-Con International.

Rimowa GmbH, the German manufacturer of luxury travel briefcases, sued Marvel and Disney’s Buena Vista Home Entertainment in August, claiming the packaging for the collection violated its trademark. Rimowa had provided the studio with an aluminum Topas attaché case for Samuel L. Jackson to carry in the film, but did not grant Marvel permission to manufacture replicas. “Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One” will now be released in a different case but with the same glowing Tesseract cube. It retails for $219.

Ant-Man won’t be part of Phase 3? If I recall it’ll be released after Avengers 2.

So? All the article said is it’ll probably have the test reel in the box.

With that price hike from the old case to this, they can whistle if they think I’m paying out over $22 a disc, especially with how cheap the old movies are on blu now.

  • TARDIS77

But they have conformed that it s the last movie of phase 2.

“and a look ahead to Phase Two, which begins in May with Iron Man 3 and continues with Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2.”
It means Ant-Man is also part of phase 2 and I thought it’ll be released sometimes after 2015 (Avengers 2).

Im gonna guess that every single person reading this article or that sees this ad on amazon at some point- ALREADY OWNS  every single movie from Marvel phase 1.

The *extras*  come down to nonsensical clips & interviews that we can/will be able to find on youtube anway.

The little gimick paper reports inside are neat, but who cares?  Bottom line is this:

I can find  IRONMAN, both HULKs, and maybe IRONMAN 2  in the $7 bin at Wallmart.
The others in the $13 bin.

AVENGERS will be in the $15 bin by next yr.

Id love to know what normal person will spend $100 bucks on a movie set in this day & age.

  • I live in reality

Seriously.  Isnt the age of such gimmick nonsense behind us?

How many idiots feel stupid for clunking down $100 bucks or more on that MATRIX mulit disk box set with sentinel statue?

The “EXTRAS’  always end up on mulitple youtubes. Same for the preview of PHASE 2. Like that wont be all over the net.

So your paying for a plasitc toy suitcase and blue square ( cosmic cube).
Guys with wives should be ashamed.
