"Supergirl" Pilot Leaks 6 Months Early -- But Is That a Bad Thing?
While most of the Star Wars chatter has been about who will and won’t be involved with Episode VII, there’s still the matter of the next two installments of the recently announced trilogy. Deadline reports that, with Michael Arndt working on the screenplay for the 2015 film, sources say Disney and Lucasfilm have already approached Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg to handle the subsequent chapters.
Kasdan is no stranger to the sci-fi, having co-written The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (as well as Raiders of the Lost Ark). Kinberg, on the other hand, is a Star Wars newbie with franchise experience on X-Men: The Last Stand, Sherlock Holmes and the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
News has been coming out at a pretty good clip when you consider that Disney announced its purchase of Lucasfilm less than a month ago. Episodes VIII and IX are set for release in 2017 and 2019.
