A Guide to "X-Men: Apocalypse," from A to X
Comic Books, Film
After two release date changes, a trailer almost a year ago and one still from the film (above), we’re excited to see more from Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer (formerly known as Jack the Giant Killer). Now, courtesy of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, we have an all-new, far more epic trailer for Singer’s take on the Jack and the Beanstalk story.
While the first trailer established the importance of the beans, this one explains how Jack (Nicholas Hoult) finds himself in the company of Princess Isabelle (Eleanor Tomlinson) and establishes why he decides to help get her back. All in all this new trailer features Ewan McGregor’s Elmont and Stanley Tucci as Lord Roderick more prominently, more action and a whole heck of a lot more giants, an army of them in fact.
Ian McShane, Warwick Davis and Bill Nighy also star in the film. David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) and Darren Lemke (Lost) came up with the story which has been handled by Dobkin, longtime Singer collaborator Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) and Dan Studney (Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical). Jack the Giant Slayer opens March 1. Watch the trailer below, or in HD at Apple.com.
“Jack the Giant Slayer” tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult) into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend–and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
