"Justice League": Exploring How Superman Returns (Again)
Comic Books, Film
Twilight Saga alum Kellan Lutz has signed on to star in Tatua, based on an original concept by comics writer Paul Jenkins and artist Rob Prior, Deadline reports. The film will mark the feature directorial debut of visual-effects wizard Aaron Sims, who helmed the buzz-generating short Archetype.
Produced by Rick Schwartz’s Overnight Productions, Tatua centers on an assassin with a rare blood type that allows him to be tattooed with weapons that he’s able to then pull from his skin, “giving him an enviable leg up as a covert assassin.” The weapons must be used quickly, or they begin to dissolve. His arsenal is put to the test when the assassin’s son is kidnapped by one of his violent targets.
Paul Laydon wrote the script for the $15 million film. Schwartz will produce alongside Todd Breau and Kari Hollend.
