INTERVIEW: "Fantastic Four" EP On Character-Driven Approach, Sequel Plans
Comic Books, Film
The DC Comics characters heading to The CW’s Arrow continue to trickle in. Following news that Manu Bennett has joined as Deathstroke and David Anders has signed on as Cyrus Vanch, it’s been revealed producers are searching for an actress to play Shado, the Yakuza-trained archer and assassin turned Green Arrow ally and romantic interest.
The news comes courtesy of Zap2it, which reports the character will make her first appearance in Episode 14, “The Odyssey.” The website confirms that Shado “will have that familiar dragon tattoo.”
Created by Mike Grell, Shado was introduced in 1987’s Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters #1 as the daughter of a disgraced Yazuka operative who swears vengeance on the Americans who brought shame on her father and her family. After a series of murders draws the attention of Green Arrow, the two first meet as adversaries but later become allies and lovers. Whether Shado will be a friend or foe when she appears on the hit superhero drama remains to be seen.
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
