Disappointed that director J.J. Abrams shared just three frames from Star Trek Into Darkness on Conan, star Zachary Quinto appeared last night on the TBS talk show to premiere an unauthorized clip from the upcoming film. OK, when we say “unauthorized clip,” we actually mean “brief scene acted out by Quinto wearing rubber Vulcan ears and a tear-away Starfleet uniform.” But, hey, at least it will spare the actor the wrath of Paramount Pictures’ legal department.
For more actual footage from the hotly anticipated sequel, we’ll have to wait until Dec. 14, when a nine-minute prologue appears with IMAX 3D screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and a theatrical trailer arrives in theaters.
Star Trek Into Darkness, which opens May 17, 2013, also stars Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Bruce Greenwood, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.
