Axel-In-Charge: Extending "Secret Wars," Excitement for a "Totally Awesome Hulk"
Get ready for another trip to Flynn’s Arcade, because Disney is pushing forward with plans for a sequel to 2010’s Tron: Legacy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first step is lining up Jesse Wigutow to tackle the script. Wigutow isn’t a big name yet, but he’s working on several projects, including Disney’s Peter and the Starcatchers and on Summit Entertainment’s remake of The Crow.
While no details have been revealed, Wigutow will work from an earlier script by David DiGilio (Eight Below). Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski is attached to return for the sequel, which the website contends is being developed with “renewed purpose” under new Disney Studios chief Alan Horn.
Although Legacy wasn’t a huge hit among fans of the original 1982 film, the $170 million movie made a whopping $400 million worldwide, so it’s not much of a surprise that the House of Mouse is moving forward with the franchise.
