REVIEW: Violent, Profane "Deadpool" Shouldn't Work, But Really F---ing Does
Entertainment Weekly scored dozens of first-look images from upcoming film and TV projects. We sifted through all 52 of them to find the ones we thought you’d be most interested in, along with some commentary from the filmmakers.
First off, you can see all four members of the Wolfpack — Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha and Bradley Cooper — returning for the third and most likely final installment of Warner Bros.’ Hangover franchise. “The Hangover Part III is Alan’s story,” director Todd Phillips told EW. “He’s going through a crisis after the death of his father, [and] the Wolfpack is all he has.” Phillips also said that Ken Jeong’s Mr. Chow will return in this this installment and will be “darker than ever.” The film opens May 24.
Here’s the premiere image from the Aug. 2-releasing RED 2, the follow-up to the 2010 action-comedy loosely based on the WildStorm miniseries by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner. The film will see the return of Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker along with new additions Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
“All of those great Bond and Bourne movies you’ve seen, we go into that world and have those kind of set pieces,” director Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) said. “It’s just our characters that are completely ludicrous.” He went on to compliment actress Helen Mirren, “She is genius and unbelievably sexy — and somehow unbelievably macho.”
Last, but not least, feast your eyes on the first look at Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter from the upcoming NBC series created by Pushing Daisies‘ Bryan Fuller. It’s good to see that the burgeoning serial killer and cannibal still has a good sense of style and taste even in his earlier days. Hannibal will debut sometime next year.
